INTEGRAL FORMATION OF PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS

Rev. Dr D Thomas Alexander SJ is currently serving as the Principal of St. Xavier's College of Education (autonomous), Palayamkottai, Tamilnadu, Which is one of the premier institution of India in Teacher education. He has post-graduated in Mathematics, Psychology, Sociology and Education along with a post graduate diploma in Higher Education and Doctorate in Education. He served as a Mathematics teacher in a rural higher secondary school for four and half years, he switched over to the present College of Education in 2000 to be the Asst. Professor for eight years and later promoted as Principal of the same college serving till today. His area of research has been the special children especially the disruptive behaviour of students in the classroom. He has been handling classes in psychology, guidance and counselling, higher education, soft skills and educational philosophy. Known for his staff orientations, resource person for conferences and other educational programs. He has served as the member of committees deputed by NAAC, Universities and State Government.
